The answer: very, and for multiple reasons. Now if you’re sitting at home, shrugging this off, and thinking, “School isn’t that important,” then you are completely wrong. And the whole purpose of this article is to tell you why.
First, and most importantly, school gives you a great education. Say you wanted to be a doctor, but you didn’t even know how to read or write. Do you really think you’d get the job? The answer is no, and the answer will be the same in just about any line of work.
Now, I’m sure many of you are just saying, “Not in sports! I’m going to be a pro sports player!” For one thing, you usually do need an education to be in professional sports, with only a few exceptions. Second of all, there are plenty of other people who want to be in sports, and only so many people can be pro sports players, so you might as well turn your attention to some other career.
Another important reason, though not quite as important as education, is it gets you involved in social activity. You can’t stay inside watching TV your whole life! You need to see what is going on in the world around you, and that doesn’t just mean reading the newspaper. You have to have friends, because isolation happens to be very bad for your health. School is the perfect place to meet people who could turn out to be your best friend.
These are just a couple of my reasons that school is so very important. Now I’d love to hear from you. What is it that is so very important about school in your mind?
